How the numbers are produced
The index is the median of 15 normalised public market signals, recomputed daily and locked at 00:00 UTC. Readings before our launch date are computed retrospectively using the identical formula, and are labelled as such. We compute our own values from public sources rather than republishing third-party data as our own.
We work to keep the data accurate but provide it "as is", without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any loss arising from use of the site or reliance on its content.
Data & attribution
The site uses only free, public sources — no paid APIs. Bitcoin price is our own median index computed from public exchange data (Bitstamp, Kraken, Coinbase); stablecoin and DeFi TVL data are from DeFiLlama; on-chain metrics (miner revenue, hash rate, addresses) are from blockchain.com; the Crypto Fear & Greed Index is by alternative.me. Each signal page links to its source.
